Rise Broadband - Growing to fast to keep up
I was originally with New Source Broadband II out of Graham Texas. They were bought out by JAB Wireless and given to Rhino Communications which then became Rise Broadband.
They bought up several small ISPs all over the country and now combined them under one name so it is one giant turd of a company. When I signed up with New Source, it was a 1MB plan because that is all they could offer and the equipment they use is old. Rise has done nothing to upgrade equipment around here. They tried once to put me on a different AP but the AP needed a firmware update or just to be replaced so it wouldn't work.
The equipment I am on is old from the first company. However Rise Broadband decided to start charging me an equipment rental fee.
They are constantly dropping connections, the AP randomly reboots, or they have "outages". When you are part of an "outage" they tell you nothing other than it is being worked on.
Reason of review: Bad quality.
Rise Broadband Pros: Customer service reps are nice.
Rise Broadband Cons: Outages, Old equipment, Unreliable ap, Long waits to talk to cus tservice.
Location: Electra, Texas
