The service with this company is terrible! I've had multiple service calls that go unanswered - they always claim they will call back or send someone out and they never do. After months of dealing with dragging internet I placed ANOTHER service call on November 7th. Here we are a month later and I'm told it would be at least 2 more weeks before anyone can look at the situation! In the meantime they're still happily taking my payment each month. I'm on a 5MG plan which is plenty for my needs but every time I ping the tower my speed shows to be less than 1MG. When they asked what actual download speeds I'm seeing and I told them this, they tell me they can give me a $10 credit per month on my $60 bill. That's ridiculous! At speeds of less than 1MG my internet most browsers time out before opening a page so the internet is almost unusable - and don't even think about streaming anything.

No Plan Terrible Service

This company just tells you, "yeah we have broke equipment and we don't know when it will be upgraded, sorry for the slow speeds." Terrible, they have no plan for upgrading their equipment. Support is should shrug at best and the speeds are less than 1mbps when I'm paying for up to 5mbps. Be warned. Didn't used to be this way until Rise took over service in my rural area. I call them up and all they do is tell me their sorry and that there's no plan to fix failing equipment.

I had to move but not by choice and the couldn't get a line of sight. I was told that if I could not get service then I had to get a paper from my landlord stating the satellite can't be mounted to the roof. So I did all that. But it's not good enough and I still in a contract with them. I feel that is bs that I get told one thing and than another. So I will never go back to or send anyone to them for service

I can't tell you how many times I have had to call to see why we have no internet, they do their usual check of my computer to only tell us that someone needs to come out but it's back to working a short time later. Every time they have come out they tell us we need to cut down trees!

It works fine for a while & then it stops, I can assure you trees don't grow over night. We have had to have Skybeam which is now Riseband for approximately 7 years where we live since we haven't had any other options until now......I called Century link & they finally provide service up here so we are saying good bye to Riseband!

We have been paying $46.74 a month for hit & miss service when Centurylink will only be $54.95 WITH DirecTV and our home phone bundled!

Service SUCKS

They SUCK!

Worst service I have had with wireless/radio service which I started using in Jan 2003. Like other people, I am in an area which doesn't have DSL, FIOS, etc.

Now I need 100 words just to post this.

With the company that RISE bought out I was getting 2.5 - 3.5 Mbps on download; 1.25 to 1.75 Mbps on upload; jitter of less than 5; latency of 25-35 ms. Now I'm getting 1.7-1.9 Mbps down; .2-.3 MBPS up; 5-10 jitter; 35-45 ms latency and having continuous website/internet drop-outs; have to continuously load page, etc.

Crooks!

I signed up for this garbage internet summer of 2015. I tried the service for 6 months. It was spotty at best. No more than one person could be using the internet at 1 time. Due to my location, there was only one speed and it was SLOW. I canceled only to be told that when I agreed to install that I also agreed to a 2 year contract. Funny, no mention of a contract was ever made when I signed up. And now, they slapped me with a $250 fee for canceling their terrible service. I was NEVER told there would be a contract let alone an early term fee.

Worst Customer Service In History

I cancelled my service over a month ago, because it is terrible, and then I get another bill a month later. They do not do "scheduled disconnects" you have to call back 3 times to get them to cancel your service. This needs to be looked into by the BBB. This can't be legal to charge people for service they have already canceled!! I would never recommend this company to anyone for their services. I can't believe they are still in business. I live in a small town where our internet service is very limited, so this was our option at the time. I should have gone without.

Have had their service for 1 year, and they demand the remainder of a 2 yr contract. That so called contract is just to stick the customer, if they don't deliver good transmission, or any at all, to bad so sad for the consumer. Today 2015-11-29 I was informed that terminating the Digis/Rise service before the "2-year contract expires" will cost a $250.00 fee-- something that was never mentioned as I signed up. Can anyone help me learn how to file a complaint with regulatory agencies or TV news outlet consumer fraud specialists? We live along the Wasatch front in Utah. If there are any consumer groups that can advise me how to get a fair deal, please let me know how to contact them-- use this website's contact for me. I am speechless before the shameless duplicity of this company. And worse, I am so sorry that I ever recommended this unworthy service to a few close friends!

Gouging Greedy Buttmunchers

I'd like to start out by saying I've been a customer with Digis (now known and Rise Broadband) for roughly 6 years now. I just got off the phone with their idea of customer "retention", hoping they might shed some light on the excessive price changes that recently happened starting November. Unfortunately, their response was a entirely disappointing... "To meet the increasing demands on our network and help offset the increasing cost of bandwidth, we are implementing certain rate changes and fees beginning November 15, 2015."

Let me get this straight... you haven't raised your rates in 10 years, and you CLAIM the increased cost of bandwidth is justification to charge us the extra five or so dollars when competitors with similar costs provide astronomically faster, and more reliable internet. When did this become OK? In my eyes, I was already paying too much for your *** internet services to begin with. Well Digis/RiseBroadband/gouging internet rapists, you've finally found my breaking point. Off to the next provider!

Maybe use lube next time you decide TO RAPE YOUR CLIENTS!!!!

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND EVER

Oh so very sincerely,

-Frustrated Former Customer

Rise broadband is now signing people up for BS services that will automatically draft extra money from their account for worthless services that they want to charge $9 a moth for. I'd like to file a $250 million class action lawsuit on their *** for this kind of ***.

Guest

obviously you have not been with many companies Comcast raises there rates every year with little to no alert and at 5 dollars in the 6 years you have been with them that is nice i would not complain about that if only my bill had only gone up $5 in the last 6 years. And what are you comparing this too?

other companies that provide the same type of service like Hughes net charge the same if not more and have a much smaller amount of data and provide the same speeds as them.

You can't compare it to other companies like Comcast service wise because they are not the same service. Also this company is right about the increase cost of bandwidth i'm surprised they waited this long to do this increase all internet companies have seen this increase of costs due to streaming devices like netflix there was an increase of usage of almost 50% in just the last year alone and that cost a lot of money to maintain that service you are demanding for.

My digis bill 3 yrs ago when I got it, was average of $40 a month. If I went over my limit, it was a cost of $2 per 10 gigs.

When rise broadband took over - without ANY NOTICE, it bacame $3.50 per 10 gb over!.

I ended up getting dish network to try to bring my bill down. I used 20.1gb of data TOTAL last month - and am being was bill $135 dollars!!. Wtf!!??

RISE BROADBAND - ur Not racketeering me!!! Ur a *** *** company and im SOOO eager to tell you and Everyone about you!!

Guest

I couldn't agree more with this customer. It's sneaky the way they notify you of rate increase...on your bill by making you go to the internet and click a link, which still tells you nothing.

And forget about getting someone on the phone. Internet "chat" took 10 minutes before someone would answer. I was also changed from an unlimited plan to a usage plan, with no notification that I can find. Sorry, not everyone checks all their providers websites for upcoming rate changes.

Lucky for me my credit card company notified me of the increase so I could check out what was going on. I went through the purchases from Tier One, FirstTxBroadBand, Koyote, Rhino, and when "Rise Broadband" came along, the techs said things were going to get better, because money was going to be there for new infrastructure. WRONG WRONG WRONG.The money for the new infrastructure must be coming from the new rate hike and carrier recovery fees, and, not anything the company "had on hand at purchase" because the internet service is has not improved. I know the employees must be as disappointed as the customers.

I am definitely changing providers since the price is now the same as other providers.

Time to give them a chance.

Your internet service is ridiculous. The worst customer service I have ever experienced!!! Short story: Internet is barely working most of the time and extremely slow now. When it works like its suppose to, it's great. I spend more time rebooting my router and the dish more than I actually use the service. When I call about the extremely slow speed, I get treated poorly. As if your company could care less if I'm a customer or not. I am currently writing as May reviews on as many websites as possible about my experience with your company. I will and have been telling everyone in my area to stay away from your internet service!!! I will be contacting BBB soon and file a complaint. I pay for 20 g speed and I barely get 2 g most nights. Been like this for almost a month and none of you care... Keep treating your customers like you have been and provide the worst internet service can buy, your company will suffer greatly!!! Have a nice day :)

"Feel free"

I loved Rise Broadband's internet. It was fast and I never had a problem with buffering ever. However I wasn't aware that I had a GB limit on my account until I received my bill telling me about an overage charge on my account. Apparently it just like having a cell phone where you are only allowed to use a certain amount of internet each month. They claim that you will "feel free" but you are only free up to a certain amount of GB. I have never had this problem with Comcast or Centurylink and I think I might be switching back.

No refund for you! Come back in 4-6 weeks

Rise Broadband raised their rates to cover cost of operations. I decided to go with Comcast. Paid for January and disconnected from Risen Broadband, 2/3 into Jan. Told I would get a refund. Waited 4 weeks no refund. Called Was told will receive refund 1-2 weeks. Waited 2 weeks no refund. Called was told check was cut. Then transferred to accounting. Accounting said it would be 4-6 weeks to receive a check. That puts me out to April 18th. Jan to April!!! I smell a skunk. Risen Cost Fraudband

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I just got rise broadband. I am now rethinking this whole thing.

The first night we had problems. They came to hook everything up. The guy tried to use our router, but couldn't get it to work so we had to use theirs. Internet worked great for about 3 hours.

Then it shut off. We called got a rude *** guy and he said they turned our router off because they have no records of it being hooked up to our service. Said we were using our own. He tried saying we didn't even have theirs.

We asked how was it working at first then? He said the guy brought the router back to the station. Ummmm how when it's sitting at my house hooked up? He then says he will have to reconnect it.

The next day it works. Well now I am having to configurate my devises to their service. Been waiting for this to be done for over 2 hours. Shouldn't this have all been done when they hooked up the service.

And how in the *** did it work before without this? I am extremely unhappy so far.

Join the club. This ISP has a very long list of negative experiences among their clients.

But as for RISE employees? They get excellent speeds at their homes.

I learned the hard way, to avoid any ISP under the JAB umbrella. No matter what you/they do - you will not get anything reliable from this company.
