Bad service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I called to have internet installed in my house, the day it was to be installed the installer showed up to my house and did not even knock on the door. He put his ladder up on the side of my house and before i could even get my shoes on to go and talk to his he had loaded his ladder back up and was driving off. I called there dispatch and they told me he was not sure if he could get a good signal so they needed a supervisor to come out which would be today or tomorrow. This is unacceptable since i took the day off work to be here and i did not even speak to the installer. now they expect me to take another day off work? thats not happening and i cancled my service with them altogether. i will not do busness with this company if this is how they treat there customers.

Rise Broadband - Internet Service Review from Los Angeles, California

I have Risebroad band and its terrible. I am paying for 10mhz but was only getting 3mhz. I was told it was my router. I went and brought a new router and playstation still *** connetion. Had a tech come out, he checked my connection n said the best he ciuld get ne was 7mhz even though I'm paying for 10nhz. Since I live in a rural a area and limited on internet service, I guess Risebroad Band can do what the want and I'm stuck paying for service I'm not getting. O also I have this service at work and I'm always losing data because of losing internet connection. I would NOT recomnend this service. Use Risebroad Band as your last resource.

Rise needs a class action suit brought against them. The stability is poor not to mention not getting dl and ul speeds that I'm paying for. The worst isp out there.

When I first started with this company (Aircanopy.net) I was unlimited and just here this month they tell me you went over on you usage and charged me 125.00. They changed my unlimited to so many G's or whatever without telling me. They said they emailed me, and when they told me my email address it was wrong, never even had that type email. This is the type company that screws over their customers and don't care about them. I will be leaving company, going to AT&T. This company serves is slow, the wind blows it goes off, rain and your out a week............

Worst Internet company

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Terrible service, completely unreliable, goes down very often, or speed is so slow might as well not have internet, and their customer service is even worse. Truly never have experienced worse customer service. Lies, run around, blaming the customer, and ignoring an entire neighborhood having issues. Then they have the audacity to not fix the problems but raise the rates. Never gives credits for service down, and is basically a bait and switch company that claims you'll get a speed but fine print is "up to that speed" and so they get away with billing you for .1 speed which is worse than dial up. Can't believe they got 22 million from FCC, too! http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/201508****5228/en/

Bad customer service

Been having speed issues .85mbs vs the advertised 5mbs for the past year or so. I believe they have way too many households pointed at the same antenna.

This is supported by one of their techs. Nothing he can do. According to Rise Broadband they will be updating the tower. But I have been hearing that for well over a year.

When I asked customer service about this they stated the it needs to be upgraded but it is not scheduled to be at all. This is our only choice at the moment.

Avoid at all costs, false claims in my area and empty promises.

No contract, huh?

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We switched over to Sky Beam (now Rise) a year or so ago and I am seeing a lot of subtle issues. For instance, I prefer to receive a bill in the mail because I can get busy and forget to print it from the website. I keep un-checking paperless billing on their site, but almost every month it gets checked again. We've also had service issues like everyone else. But the thing that burns me most is that we signed up for their service because there was supposedly no contract, and unbeknownst to us we are under a two year contract! Really?!?!

Poor service, poor speeds.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
This company is my only option, so I'm stuck, but I'm not very happy with them. I pay $120 a month for business service, but I don't really get a business SLA or even qualified technical support. My radio has been replaced 3 times in the past year. The service is more stable now, but I've had plenty of other technical issues. At one point, the network admins reallocated my static IP address to another region of their network on a Friday evening. No one called me to tell me this was happening or what my new IP would be; I called customer service, but they didn't know what my new IP address. I lost service for the weekend and I had to call back on Monday to find out. In another incident, their radio modem attached to my home started to flood ARP addresses and crashed the ISP network. They cut off my house from service, but didn't tell until the next morning. When the customer service rep called me, he accused the switch inside my home of causing the issue and threatened to permanently suspend my service. I asked to speak with one of the engineers to figure out what was going on (I'm actually a field engineer for a network company), but they refused to allow me to speak with them or even ask exchange emails with them over email. The field technicians Rise sends to your home run the range of very qualified to horrible; I've experienced both. I've had one leave half-way through fixing my issue without scheduling a followup appointment and I've had to call customer service to reschedule someone else to come out. There are times I get the impression that the technician is unhappy or annoyed to have to come out an fix my issue. Troubleshooting usually involves the existing wireless modem with another used wireless modem. Remember that I'm paying Rise $120 a month for service. I've had so many issues with service, I'm getting close to paying an additional $60 a month for 2Mb DSL as a backup. Rise Broadband is the Comcast of WISP service providers.

Pray you have other options

What a joke this place is.. Read reviews if you have other options... 1.) From 2 in the morning until about 3:30 in the afternoon, you will get GREAT internet service.. Latency <30ms, great bandwidth, no packet loss, very little packet jitter... Then comes 3:30PM, and their backbone gets overloaded with millions of idiots who buy this service.. Latency will be LUCKY to be under 200ms!! Most of the time its 400ms+.. So if you are a gamer, you like Black Ops3, maybe Grand Theft Auto? Good luck! Prepare for a frustration fest! Not to mention you will be LUCKY to get 1mb down and 225kb up.. You will thank GOD for that little bandwidth you receive.. Remember circa <1999 dialup? That is what you get for about 11 hours of the "peak times".. Of course, they won't tell you that, when you call and complain.. Its a radio issue, it's your router, it's your wiring, its your wifi, its poor weather, blah blah blah... I am a network engineer, I have wireshark reports that I would be happy to share to anyone.. So here is what a traceroute looks like from these guys.. From my device to the tower is good, to their first hop is good. From their first hop to Xanadoo.. (Yes folks, you read that right.. I did mention pre 1999 right?), which is their 2nd hop on the route is where the bandwidth problems begin.. It isn't the Microwave radio, it isn't tower problems, it's their backbone to the internet.. In the IT industry, it is a case of over committing.. They know this, which is why they have a cap. And you will pay dearly for going over it.. My monthly bill is well over 150 a month (Yes, for 1mb service during peak hours).. They question this, "If your getting horrible speeds how are you using over 200gigs per month", I explain that we have 1.5 T1's 1.5 mbps at work that do well over 3-6 TB a month, it is VERY easy to do.. See, the service is good enough for the "regular" user.. Just barely, and even they will have complaints.. Ya know the ones.. I visit google, watch a youtube video, maybe a Netflix or two.. (And even that is jerky as *** at times) and it can pull the bandwidth.. 200-250 Gigs (Depending on your plan) is all you get.. So even with the crappiest internet alive you will hit that about half way through your month for a family of 5 like myself. They think this helps with THEIR OWN over consumption and lack of bandwidth to the internet by over charging me for *** service.. But it doesn't work like that. They do NOTHING to fix it except give the same sorry excuses time and time and time again. (My cousin in colorado has Rise as well, you think it's different there then here in Texas?) NOPE!! Exact same issues... By the time its said and done, I am 150 dollars PER MONTH in the hole, I can watch an hour long netflix in about 2 1/2 hours, play online games only when I am on Vacation because it's impossible to play when you get home from work.. Unless you like to SUCK! But even after that, if you are determined to go forward with this purchase.. Let me explain the LAZY customer service... They constantly blame the radio.. They swear that is what is causing the problem. I have 6 acres of land out in the boonies of Texas.. So a telephone pole on my property is where they put the radio pointed to the tower, which is only 1.8 miles from the house.. So they had a guy come out to replace it, when he saw that it was on a telephone pole, he said it was "Inaccessible" and still to this day it has NOT been changed out and that was 6 months ago.. So if you a an amazon user where your internet is just ordering gifts, checking email, or playing on facebook (even that sucks sometimes) then go for it if its your only option.. However, if you are a heavy internet user who uses the 150 per month you pay for enjoy over paying 4 times what internet is worth for 1/4 of the quality (And that is if you are lucky) pray there is another option. Verizon dsl 1.5 to 3mbps is now available for me, so I am having to pay for a 2nd internet, but I figure since that will be uncapped, I should be able to stop the "overages" Skybeam.. uhhh I mean RISE broadband charges and come out ahead.. And have decent latency for online gaming during "peak time".. Good luck! And remember, you read this review and were warned and did it anyway.

I worked for another local company around azle,Springtown area. I recently graduated ITT with a ascociates in network/systems admin.

I am new to tech so I wanted to get my feet wet in this business. I also have rise. Both companies do the same thing. Way oversold.

I even told the guys in the co several times we were full in certain towers. They would agree and I would see 5 new 10 Meg customers added the next week. They both go down all the time.

Peak hours get you 300 ms ping times. Every week something either so slow you can't game or completely down.

Very Unsatisfied

I have called numerous times about my internet but it has been out for about a month and the service still does not work. I have called and they tell you what you want to hear to get you off the phone. This company bought out the company i was with and I am very dissatisfied with Rise Broadband. they raised my payment and lowered my speed. They wanted me to upgrade what I had previously. Why should I have to pay more for what I had to begin with? Very Dissatisfied!!!!!

Rise Broadband - Internet Service Review from Fort Worth, Texas

Do NOT use this company. Terrible customer service and no support. They bought my ISP, the only one I've had since inception of the internet and after several promises, they still proceed to screw things up. I was promised that nothing would change. Lie after lie. Don't waste your time or money. You will be extremely disappointed.

Only excells in the art of arrogance!!!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
According to my contract I am to get 5MPS down and 1MPS up. For weeks I have only been getting 2.5 down an .65 up. After complaining, they have now "fixed" the problem and I am getting 4.6 down and ONLY 0.5 up. I told them that was not good enough and the arrogant @$$@#$% told me I should upgrade. I told them that if they had the ability to increase my speed to what I had contracted for, they should do so without an upgrade or I would close out my account. Avoid these people, they are dishonest.

Slow slow slow

Pay for 20mb internet service, have been with this company for a year and a half, never once has the dl speed peaked over 1.5mb, lately the ping is between 400-700, just very bad experience for so long, and there's no competitors as of now in Pahrump Nevada it's our only choice :-( no matter how many customers get pissed, no matter how many people call and complain, they do nothing but throttle your speed down. And apparently I need to enter at least 100 words, this is really silly, I don't want to type my life story but if you want 100 words here you go.
